The Paperwork ProcessI thought I would put some notes up about the process of getting your RV registered and inspected. Eveyone seems to agree this is one of the more difficult tasks to accomplish. Step 1) Call or email Van's and ask them to send you a bill of sale. If you are putting your wife's name on the registration, it also needs to be included on the Bill of Sale, on a seperate line.
Step 2) Call your local FSDO and ask for an "Amature Built Application Package". Don't take no for an answer. Form 8050-1 is a 3-part form
so you can't download it from the internet. The package should contain the following items:
Step 3) Submit your AC Form 8050-1 along with the Kit Bill of Sale, Affidavit of Ownership for Amateur-Built Aircraft and a Special Request letter if you want a specific N number. |
